JKBOSE 12th Class Exam 2020 Begins: As per the latest update, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has officially commenced the JKBOSE 12th Board Exams 2020 for the students of Kashmir Valley. JKBOSE Class 12 Exams began on 12th November in the Valley amid strict adherence to COVID precautions and guidelines. As per the official announcement, JKBOSE Class 12 examination commenced across the Kashmir valley as well as in the winter zone areas of Jammu division. Considering safety and health of all amid the on-going pandemic, the board has put in place adequate precautions and safety measures to ensure to check the spread of the infection among the students.
Concessions Granted During the Exam
In the light of prevailing situation of pandemic and the school closures since March 2020, the state board has decided to reduce the overall exam syllabus by nearly 40%. In line with this, the state government has decided to grant certain exemptions to the students appearing for the board exams. Students were briefed about the same at the start of the examination with them only requiring to attempt questions worth 60 marks out of the total 100 mark question paper.
Key Statistical Highlights
Going by the details shared by the JKBOSE, a total of 58,514 candidates are appearing in the examination at 626 centres have been established in the Kashmir Valley. On the other hand, 15,055 candidates are appearing in 188 centres from winter zone areas of Jammu division. Keeping in mind the pandemic, the total number of exam centres have also been increased and the in a single hall, only 20 students will be seated this year instead of usual 30, to ensure proper social distancing between them.
